In addition to trying to remember to take daily photos and find something meaningful to shoot, I also have a goal to get 30 minutes of exercise every day.
I use a series of online videos for different exercise types to give me some variation. The yoga mat basically lives on my office floor.

There are a lot of flowers blooming right now, and the hot weather has helped that along.
We came across this Oriental poppy on one of our dog walks, which didn’t appear to be part of anyone’s property.

With the stay-at-home order lifted in Ontario, I made a beeline for the cottage right after work.
I arrived in time to watch the sunset and enjoy the quietness. Sorry for the glare, as this was just a quick picture through the plane glass window.

Not surprisingly, we get a lot of wildlife around the cottage and keeping the camera on hand is always a must.
This sparrow was perched on a young red pine and seemed interested in the noise coming from my camera shutter. This pine tree has its own unique story, in that during 2001 there was a microburst that dropped a dozen large trees on the property. One of these trees hit this pine tree and left a sizeable gash in the bark. After clearing the big trees, my parents wrapped the gash with a clean dish cloth to keep it protected form insects and fungi. The tree survived and continues to do well.

There is a large area around the cottage that is expected to have a bumper crop of a year for gypsy moth caterpillars. These insects will defoliate the trees, leave droppings EVERYWHERE, and have you dodging around as you try and avoid them as they hang on silken threads.
Many property owners opted to have their properties sprayed with a specific chemical that targets the caterpillars, but is harmless to humans, wildlife, or other insects. The chopper, with its spray arms, passed over the property several times, which will hopefully bring a quick conclusion to the gypsy moths this year.

One of the great things about cottages is their, nearly, universal need to display wood. Our family cottage is no different.
This is the view of the guest cabin ceiling. The room is done in tongue and groove pine on both ceiling and walls.

While the COVID-19 vaccine continues to roll-out across Canada, there have been random pop-up clinics with vaccine availability. Like many Ontarians that are newly eligible, I have been on the hunt for my 2nd dose.
Vaccine Hunters Canada, on Twitter, became my main point of vaccine availability information. They post pop-up clinic information as well as pharmacies that have available appointments. At the time of writing this post, I have just received my second dose!
